Whether you want to read by yourself or with a group, play board games, do a craft, or be around people but interacting on your own terms, Smarts & Crafts has a spot for you!
Each month there will be a craft table, a reading area, a game area, and a Quiet Zone. We will have communication boards & buttons available and sensory aids like perch seats, wiggle seats, and fidgets. In the Quiet Zone you'll find comfy seating, a light table, and quieter games that you can play alone or with one other person.
2:15-3:00pm - Guided crafts & Reading, this means that library staff will be in the room with you. Any caretakers or aides must remain in the library but can leave the room.
3:00-3:45pm - You're free to continue reading & having fun in the room without library staff. Any caretakers or aides are responsible for staying in the room.
October 14th - We'll have a watercolor station with optional prompts, LEGO with optional prompts, and have copies of The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson available to read.
November 4th - We'll have air dry clay to shape and paint, board games, and bring in a book you want to read by yourself.
