This event has been CANCELED and will be rescheduled for another date. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Our next talk for the Friday Lecture Series will feature curator from the MAD Museum, Shannon Stratton. Her talk, titled "Desire Trails: A Winding Path Through the Visual Arts" will take place on April 6 at 12:00 p.m. in room 165 at the Center for the Visual Arts. All curator and artist talks are free and open to all.
Shannon R. Stratton has worked in the visual arts as an artist, writer, curator, professor, publisher and arts administrator with an emphasis on artist-run initiatives and concepts in contemporary craft. As Chief Curator at The Museum of Arts and Design in New York she pursues her interest in the future of craft. At MAD she has reimagined the artistic vision of the institution, programming the exhibition calendar, including curating four exhibitions, from fall 2015 until present.
She continues to organize exhibitions independently, with a particular research interest in expanded concepts of the self-taught and grass-roots cultural production.
