Free Reeds and Roots Earthskills Sharing

Saturday, August 20 - 9:00 AM

Raising chickens, brewing kombucha, foraging edibles: These are some of the many earth skills that will be shared at Fred Fuller Park in Kent at the Reeds and Roots Earthskills gathering on August 20. Many people are yearning to reclaim the self-sufficiency of growing and preserving their own food, repairing their homes, and mending their clothing, and this event will provide that opportunity!

The growing list of workshops include: Fun With Fragrances, Fun With Math (the world's first game, from Africa), Composting, Earth-friendly methods of improving soil fertility, Permaculture: Saving the World One Backyard at a Time,  Who Decides? An introduction to Sociocracy, Wild Mushroom Identification, Mobile Solar-Powered Water Pump, Hedgehogs 101, African Drum Circle, Introduction to Earthen Building with Uncle Mud, Winter Sowing: Veggies, Herbs, & Flowers, Nonviolent Communication Skills, Raising Backyard Chickens, Handspinning to Weaving, Plumbing: Learn to Fix Your Own Sink, Faucet & Drain, Make Your Own Kombucha, Foraging for Nutrition and Survival, Repurposing Jeans, Sew a Button On It!
