Faith leaders are trusted sources of information and guidance who many people look to for help and answers in time of need. People dealing with substance abuse, whether their own or that of a loved one, are no exception. Usually, the focus is on intervention and recovery once problems exist. We would like to invite faith leaders to learn about prevention and how your faith community can play an important role in drug prevention for your community. Everyone who attends will receive a toolkit developed by PreventionFIRST which provides background information on prevention, tools to choose from to implement the information, and resources. The workshop will be held on October 16 from 9:30-11:30am at the Kent Free Library. Please contact Madeline Bush at the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County for more information and to register at 330-673-1756 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
