Leprechaun Sighting in Garrettsville, Ohio
That’s right folks, you read it here first! The village of Garrettsville is gearing up for a wee bit o’ Irish luck.
Rumor has it, there is a lightening quick leprechaun bopping from business to business in the town of Garrettsville these days. Apparently, he bears an uncanny resemblance to one of their ‘Grand’ upstanding citizens and he popped into town on stopover for this splendid St. Patty’s Day Celebration.
The Garrettsville Area Chamber of Commerce proudly sponsors their 1st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. This year on Wed. March 17th, the villages of Garrettsville and Hiram will be alive with Irish activity from well before dawn to long after dusk. Eateries, such as SkyLane Bowling, Miller’s Restaurant, Sean’s Pub, and Main Street Grill and Brewing Company will open their doors in wee hours of the mornin’ to serve up some of the most satisfying of Irish fare in NE Ohio. Throughout the day, be sure to frequent many of these fine establishments for lunch or dinner and savor the finest mouth-watering corn beef, cabbage and Reuben sandwiches in the area.
Later, enjoy the entertainment of ‘Woody’ on bagpipes at Sean’s Pub/Slim and Jumbos. On into the evening, Woody will take his show to the road and play up and down Main Street, an ideal opportunity to grab your wee kids and cameras and create some marvelous memories. And there is buzz that some exceptional Irish dancers will be in town as well!
On Main Street, The Eagles Club, The Village Bookstore, The Shaker Tree, Chic and Shabby, and Zeppe’s Pizza will all extend their business hours to offer the finest of food, fun, and gifts. Call on The JAG Historical Society, and soak up a bit o’ info about Garrettsville’s in times gone by.
Main Street Grill and Brewing Company will be offering up their trademark Garrett’s Gold as well as live entertainment. Be sure to drop in to Miller’s Restaurant and visit with the now famous, Leppe O’Miller. At Cornerstone Gifts and Antiques one can ‘get rid o’ the chill’ with a fresh cup of coffee. Maybe you or yours would like to win a little green. Each location will hold a special St. Patty’s Day drawing, particularly for those folks who just drop by.
Heading to the east end of town, sample some Irish cookin’ at The Brick, Cal’s Restaurant , and then, cause a few Irish eyes to smile whilst you croon a few bars of karaoke at the Sky Lanes Bowling Alley.
Travelling west, pick up your favorite Irish treats. Take home a little Irish brew or a favorite beverage from That’s the Spirit; enjoy a Shamrock Shake from McDonalds, view a fabulous collection of antiques, toys and automobile memorabilia at the local Dairy Queen! Domino’s is sure to have an Irish special.
Don’t leave the area without a stop to Gery’s Place Down Under in Hiram. Enjoy your favorite Irish entrees, a variety of green beverages and the entertainin’ of Irish melodies provided by local college talent.
