The Ravenna Recreation Department is sponsoring a Soccer Goalkeeper Clinic for ages 6 to 13 years.  This clinic is designed for the current or potential soccer goalkeeper as they gain confidence, develop and strengthen skills.  Specific drills and games will target hand-eye coordination, proper diving, fundamental of catching, reaction, positioning, angles, foot skills, over head throws, sidearm throws, kick short roll, kick long, goalkeeping training games and technical training.

Registration is limited to 10 players per age bracket.  Participate should bring a size appropriate soccer ball, water and be dressed to play soccer – shin guards, mouth piece and shoes.

Coaches are invited to attend with their players at no cost to coaches. Coaches will learn specific drills which can be incorporated into future practices.

Registration deadline is April 2, 2010, or when each age group is filled.  Class space is limited so register early to secure a spot! 

 Registration will take place weekdays from 8 a.m. to 12 or 1 to 4:15 p.m. at the Recreation office, 530 North Freedom St., 2nd floor.

 Registrants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and pay the entry fee at the time of  registration.        Registration fee for all City Taxpayers (live or work in the Ravenna City Limits) is $10.00.  Fee for Non-City Taxpayers is $15.00.  Checks should be made payable to City of Ravenna.  A $5.00 late fee will be charged after April 2, 2010 if any openings are still available.

DATE & LOCATION  -  Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Ravenna Soccer Complex

v     Field #2  -  Ages 6-9       -   9:00am to 12:30pm

v     Field #4  -  Ages 10-13   -   1:00pm to 4:30 pm

Remember: Deadline is Friday, April 2 or the first 10 participants per age division.
