Have you ever heard the saying ‘An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure?’
An Estate Planning Workshop will be held Thursday evening, September 9, 7pm at the Portage County OSU Extension Office Conference Center. Taking time now for some family estate planning may be worth thousands of dollars in saved taxes and prevent headaches in the future. Ohio laws provide the legal outline for estate distribution, but why not increase the opportunity for your family’s estate will document to more closely reflect your intended wishes. This workshop is designed to introduce family members to the basic concepts needed for estate planning. This information is not intended to take the place of legal counsel.
The workshop will cover information needed by families to learn more about estate wills, living wills and more. "Families should review and update legal documents on a regular basis," states Sharon Strouse, Extension Educator, Western Reserve EERA. Learn which estate planning documents are recommended for Ohio families. Worksheets and educational materials will be provided. Cost is $5.00 per family, payable to OSU Extension.
